HAMPTON, Va. (AP) - Authorities say they have arrested a Hampton man in connection with the slaying of a woman following a police chase, when she was found unresponsive in his vehicle.

Media outlets report 51-year-old Joseph Dunston was charged on Saturday with murder in the death of the woman.

Hampton Police said in news release that Dunston forced the woman into his vehicle Friday, physically assaulted her; struck her with his vehicle and then lead police on a chase.



Police say they found the woman unresponsive in the vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police have not identified her.

According to the release, the incident was domestic-related.

It’s unclear if Dunston has an attorney.
