BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Louisiana woman was arrested and accused of fatally shooting her husband during a domestic dispute, authorities said.
Lindy Lane, 39, was charged Thursday with manslaughter in the death of her husband, Sullivan Lane Jr., news outlets reported.
Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said officers found Sullivan Lane, 52, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his home.
A police affidavit said Lindy Lane and her husband were having a verbal fight that turned physical. Lane armed herself with a handgun and attempted to hit her husband with it but shot him once, the affidavit said.
Lane “stumbled” after shooting her husband and while she was stumbling she shot him several more times, the affidavit said. Sullivan Lane died at the scene.
It’s unclear whether Lindy Lane had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
