JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A former Cleveland Police officer is free on $10,000 bond after her arrest on one count of grand larceny.

Attorney General Jim Hood said Friday that a Bolivar County grand jury indicted 35-year-old Sandra Lomax, of Robinsonville, in March and arrested her Wednesday. Hood’s office says Lomax is accused of taking more than $5,000 from a citizen while she worked as a police officer last June.

A telephone listing for Lomax was unavailable. It was unknown if Lomax has an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

If convicted of the charge, Lomax faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
