Forces opposing the Employee Free Choice Act, “card check” as they call it, are hoping to draw lots of attention to the newspaper editorial boards and Democrats who aren’t supporting the legislation, among others.

The Workforce Fairness Institute, a group seeking to kill the bill, published a top 10 list featuring unlikely allies, like former Whirlpool Union President Neil Catlett, Reverend Al Shaprton and former Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern.

The list is published on WFI’s EFCA Wire website, modeled after the Drudge Report and used to promote favorable news stories to their cause.

“Americans - irrespective of political persuasion - are voicing very real concerns about the Employee ‘Forced’ Choice Act,” said WFI spokesman Danny Diaz. “This bill would significantly damage our economy and the binding arbitration component would result in a government takeover of small business.”

Update: American Rights at Work Press Secretary Josh Goldstein, a group supporting the bill, emailed to say it’s “laughable” EFCA’s opposition could only come up with 10 people against it.  He provided a series of links to other websites featuring those who want EFCA passed, including a list of economists who support it and major union organizations.
