Thru 6: Nats take 4-3 lead.

Somehow, some way, Daniel Cabrera has earned a quality start. Yes, he’s gone six innings and allowed three runs.

The rest of his pitching line is a mess. Five walks. Four wild pitches. Several head-scratching moments. But ultimately, he did his job. He kept the Nats in the game. He even got hit by a pitch!

And now he’s in line for the win.

Stymied from the second through the fifth innings by right-hander Mitchell Boggs, the Nats’ lineup finally came back to life in the sixth, all with two outs. Austin Kearns drew a walk. Jesus Flores then drilled a triple to the center-field wall, scoring Kearns. Anderson Hernandez’s double inside the first-base line scored Flores and suddenly the Nats hold a 4-3 lead.

Which means it’s now up to the Washington bullpen to close this one out. Gulp.
