The Nationals couldn’t have asked for much more out of Livan Hernandez in his return to the rotation. Through six strong innings, he’s made only one mistake: Milton Bradley’s two-run homer in the third. Otherwise, the crafty old right-hander has been very effective.

Hernandez has struck out six, walked two and basically kept the Cubs off-balance throughout the evening. More than a few Chicago batters have looked silly trying to figure Livo out.

At the moment, he’s not on the line for the win or the loss, though, because the game is tied 2-2. Cristian Guzman provided the tying base hit, an two-out single in the fifth that scored Wil Nieves.

Looks like this will come down to a battle of bullpens. Stay tuned, could be an exciting finish.
