Orange joins Gray in L.A.

D.C. Council member Vincent B. Orange Sr. hasn’t wasted any time in delving into his newly minted committee.
Mr. Orange, at-large Democrat, joined Mayor Vincent C. Gray in Los Angeles today to tout the District as an ideal filming location at a meeting with studio executives.

Government notices about the trip noted the presence of Mr. Gray and Crystal Palmer, the director of the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development, with nothing about Mr. Orange.

As the council enjoys its recess, Mr. Orange apears to be grabbing the reins of his Committee on Small and Local Business Development, a newly formed committee with oversight of Ms. Palmer’s agency.

When a reporter with The Washington Times called Mr. Orange for comment on Mr. Gray’s efforts, his chief of staff noted he was out on the West Coast with the mayor.
