Eventual return of Terps' Mackall "doesn't look real promising"

Maryland coach Randy Edsall said it is unlikely defensive end David Mackall will return to the team. The sophomore was suspended indefinitely earlier this month.

“I don’t think that looks real promising right now,” Edsall said.

Mackall started the first seven games and came off the bench Oct. 29 against Boston College for being late to a meeting.

Mackall had 30 tackles (six for loss) and three sacks this season. He was used as a reserve middle linebacker as a true freshman before shifting to defensive line this year.
