Maryland tailback Justus Pickett and defensive back Makinton Dorleant are leaving the Maryland football program, a team spokesman said Monday.
Pickett, who started four games as a sophomore, is departing for family-related reasons, the spokesman said.
Pickett had 69 carries for 142 yards and three touchdowns as part of a four-tailback tandem for the Terrapins (4-8). He also had 19 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown. Pickett was used sparingly as a rusher over the final five games, drawing four attempts for no yards.
In his two seasons, he had 143 rushes for 416 yards and four touchdowns.
Dorleant played in all 12 games as a redshirt freshman and made four tackles.
The departures of Dorleant and Pickett leave Maryland at 65 scholarship players who are set to return next season.
