Nylander in; Semin questionable

The Caps are skipping the morning skate today, but we just caught up with Bruce Boudreau at the team’s hotel in Newark. Alexander Semin is going to be a game-time decision with an upper body injury. He will go on the ice for warmups and then decide if he can play or not. Boudreau said Semin told him he was “50-50” after a meeting this morning.

Michael Nylander is definitely in the lineup, so someone else will have to come out if Semin decides he can play. Boudreau did not want to disclose who would need to sit.

Shaone Morrisonn is going to take the warmup as well, but Boudreau said he doesn’t expect him to play. Morrisonn would have skated ths morning if the team didn’t skip the skate.

Jose Theodore is in net again. Boudreau said Theodore was scheduled to start tonight all along, so this isn’t really a reward for playing so well last night. Theodore has stopped 44 of 45 shots in the past two games, so Boudreau probably couldn’t go wrong either way and giving Brent Johnson another couple days to rest can’t be a bad thing.
