Erskine in, Kronwall out

Bruce Boudreau said John Erskine will be back in the lineup, replacing Staffan Kronwall. It was an up-and-down night for Kronwall against Colorado — he had a big open-ice hit early but missed an open net and Boudreau didn’t think he did enough to deter Ryan Smyth from scoring on his wraparound goal.

Jose Theodore is in net, and Boudreau said there will be a slight tweak the lines from practice yesterday — he wanted to switch one guy (so he obviously had to move two).

The Penguins are 2-0-1 since hiring Dan Bylsma to replace Michel Therrien, and the last two games have been wild, 5-4 shootouts against Montreal and Philadelphia. Bylsma has opened up the style of play for the Penguins, which even Boudreau recognized could make for a wild, entertaining afternoon.

So buckle up — it could be first team to seven wins today.
