'Desperate Housewives' make the inaugural scene

Pennsylvania Avenue could have been Wisteria Lane yesterday as four members of the “Desperate Housewives” team descended on Washington for inaugural festivities.

Dana Delany, Alfre Woodard, Teri Hatcher and “Housewives” creator and producer Marc Cherry
all found themselves in town to celebrate the new president at the Capitol File and Creative Coalition pre-party at the Donovan House downtown.

Miss Delany says her character on the show, Katherine Mayfair, may not be so celebratory. “I think she is more conservative, but if she were doing her own party, she would serve something very retro like baked Alaska.”

Miss Woodard, who played mysterious housewife Betty Applewhite in a previous season on the show, told The Washington Times that her friend Michelle Obama “will be a first lady for white and black women. She is very familiar to women. She will not be a pageant type.”
