Senate Democrats hit a new milestone Wednesday — 1,400 days since they passed a federal budget.
In recognition of that failure, Senate Republicans have launched the website “Pass a Senate Budget,” which calls on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his counterparts in Democratic leadership to finally pass a spending blueprint out of the upper chamber.
“They say failing to plan is planning to fail, but unfortunately, that’s been the Democrats’ approach to our budgetary challenges for nearly four years,” said Sen. Roy Blunt, Missouri Republican. “Meanwhile, we’ve lurched from crisis to crisis as the national debt surpassed $16.6 trillion and federal spending skyrocketed by 19 percent since 2008. It’s time for the Democrat-led Senate to get serious about spending, and to get serious about passing a budget.”
