Coach Jim Zorn praised Jon Jansen’s play against the Cowboys, but wouldn’t commit to the 10-year veteran starting on Sunday in Philadelphia. Zorn said that Jansen, the starter since 1999 until being benched for Heyer after this preseason, had been “impressive” but hadn’t necessarily done enough to reclaim the job. However, Heyer complicated the situation by aggravating his sprained left shoulder on one of Shaun Suisham’s field goals against the Cowboys.
