Fletcher a first alternate

Middle linebacker London Fletcher is reportedly a first alternate for is first Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in tackle during the last 11 seasons.

If NFC top seed New Orleans makes the Super Bowl, Fletcher would replace the Saints’ Jonathan Vilma in the Jan. 31 All-Star Game in Miami.

Fletcher popped off when he was left off the team yet again last year. I don’t expect a similar reaction this time.

San Francisco’s Patrick Willis, who leads the league in tackles, is the NFC’s other inside linebacker.

The selection of Redskins outside backer Brian Orakpo, the team’s first rookie Pro Bowl pick since kick returner Tony Green in 1978, prevented Washington from being shut out of the game for just the second time. That happened in 1993, Richie Petitbon’s only year as coach.
