Tonight, hours after Dockery was released by the Bills (he made $18.5 million for two years of work), the Redskins might interested in another high-priced guard.
Scout.com is reporting that Ravens guard Jason Brown is on the Redskins radar. Baltimore and Brown parted ways earlier Thursday when the sides couldn’t come to a contract agreement.
Brown could command a contract similar to the one Dockery got in March 2007 — an astronomical contract for a guard. It would also serve as a complete indictment on the development of second-year player Chad Rinehart, who projects as a guard in general and a left guard in particular.
I’ll take a stab and count this as Plan B for the Redskins Midnight Splash Plan. Option A has to be Albert Haynesworth. If Brown is Plan B, talks with cornerback DeAngelo Hall’s agent can’t be going well.
