Wearing a green shirt on St. Patrick’s Day didn’t give Matt Sinclair the luck of the Irish.

The Redskins just cut the linebacker despite their shortage of bodies at the position with Marcus Washington having been cut and Khary Campbell still a free agent. After making a good impression in his first NFL action for Washington in December 2007, Sinclair hurt his back in training camp last summer and spent 2008 on injured reserve.

“They didn’t really give me a reason, but it’s the NFL,” the 26-year-old Sinclair said while carrying his possessions on the way out of Redskin Park. “I really enjoyed being a Redskin, but it’s a business. I’m going to try to make it somewhere else.”
