As expected, the Redskins have placed tight end Chris Cooley on the season-ending injured reserve list.
Cooley broke his ankle against Philadelphia in Week 7 and the anticipated recovery time of 3-4 weeks didn’t take place and any hope of him returning for the final 4-5 games was eliminated.
Cooley, who had never missed an NFL game until his injury, finishes the season with 29 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns. His streak of two straight Pro Bowls will end.
The Redskins now have 10 players on injured reserve.
To take Cooley’s place on the roster, defensive end Rob Jackson was elevated from the practice squad. Jackson could be line for playing time with DE Jeremy Jarmon (knee) also on IR.
