The good news: The tarp is off the field and we’re scheduled to finally get underway at 9:15 p.m.

The bad news: We’re going to be here for a while. It’s quite possible there are more people in the press box currently than in the stands.


Oh, and from the “Where Are They Now?” department … Wily Mo Pena has signed a minor-league deal with the New York Mets. Perhaps he’ll get a chance to bat against Shawn Hill (1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in two starts with the Padres) one of these days.
