The Nationals announced Tuesday afternoon they have signed six players to minor-league contracts: right-handed pitchers Joel Peralta, Logan Kensing and Ryan Speier, catcher Jamie Burke, infielder Pete Orr and outfielder Jerry Owens.

Of the six, only Peralta’s name had not been connected to the Nats before today—Kensing, Orr and Burke are all back from last season, and Owens and Speier had been previously reported. The return of Burke, who came in a trade from the Mariners late last season when the Nats were thin at catcher, will give them some more depth at the position in case Jesus Flores isn’t ready for the start of the year. And Orr had been working out at catcher in the Nats’ instructional league.
