There aren’t many people in the park watching it, but perhaps you should head down here ASAP, because something REALLY historic could be in the works.
Yes, it’s early. But three innings into this game, Randy Johnson has not allowed a National to reach base. Yep, nine up, nine down. There haven’t even been any real close calls, aside from maybe Nick Johnson’s line drive to center in the first (which Aaron Rowand made an awkward sliding catch to haul in).

That’s the only ball to leave the infield so far. Six groundouts. Two strikeouts. More importantly, Johnson hasn’t thrown many pitches, only 31 so far. So buckle up, this could be really interesting.
The Giants have a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of runs off Jordan Zimmermann in the second. Fred Lewis singled and Travis Ishikawa followed with a double. A groundout scored Lewis, then a single by D.C. native Emmanuel Burriss brought home the second run.
Meanwhile in other news…
Ryan Zimmerman has donated $250,000 to the University of Virginia baseball program. Nice move by the former Cavalier, who obviously has some extra money in his pockets these days.
