How Jamie Moyer continues to do this at age 46 is beyond me. Then again, it’s not like the ageless lefty has been getting many guys out this season. He came into today’s game 3-5 with a 7.42 ERA.

But that was before Moyer got a hold of the Nationals, who can make anyone look good. So of course he just completed six innings of one-run, three-hit ball, walking no one and striking out 4. The only man to get to Moyer was Josh Willingham, who hit a solo homer. Otherwise, nothing doing.

Meanwhile, John Lannan labored through five innings. He only allowed three runs and four hits, but he walked four and threw a whopping 106 pitches.

So once again the Nationals will need to try to rally against the Philly bullpen if they want to avoid heading home 0-6 for the week.
