Hopefully, no one is looking for a deeper meaning tonight when Maryland plays Delaware State.

Now, if the Hornets somehow win, then yes, there will be some significance. But in reality, Maryland is playing a road-weary 2-10 team. The Terps ought to win.

But if there is a single player who might reverse his fortunes tonight, it might be Braxton Dupree. He’s certainly had plenty of time to watch since his banishment from the starting lineup, including a one-game punishment for missing a class and a one-minute cameo appearance late in Sunday’s defeat of George Washington.

“He’s been OK,” coach Gary Williams said. “I think he’s trying to figure out what he has to do to get back on the court. Now, with Jerome Burney going down for a while, he’s certainly going to get a chance in practice.”

Whether that translates to a game, though, remains to be seen.
