First of all, a bookmark alert!

If you don’t have Inside Lacrosse’s NCAA blog bookmarked, go do it. Now. Well, maybe after you read the rest of this post, since you can find the following information there as well.

The magazine (and Face-Off Yearbook) just released its preseason All-America teams. This is the point where it’s worth noting the season starts in less than two months, which probably excites me a lot more than it does just about anyone else.

Anyway, there is some local flavor on the first team, with Virginia’s Danny Glading and Ken Clausen, Navy’s Geoff Leone and Johns Hopkins’ Michael Evans making the cut. And if I’m going to count Hopkins as a local (by my own executive decision, I’ve decided it’s time to officially include the Blue Jays based on their national stature even though they’ve been an unofficial local all along), then Loyola and long pole P.T. Ricci counts for this entry’s purposes, too.

Maryland, by the way, has representatives on the second team (defenseman Brian Farrell), third team (d-middie Bryn Holmes and goalie Brian Phipps) and honorable mention (attackmen Grant Catalino and Ryan Young, midfielder Jeff Reynolds and defenseman Max Schmidt).

Here is the full first team:

A - Danny Glading, Sr., Virginia
