Just went final here at Comcast Center as Maryland closed out a 72-51 victory. Greivis Vasquez led all scorers with 19 points.

I suspect coach Gary Williams will be very tempered in his assessment . Maryland quickly locked up the win and was never in serious danger, but it only really played well in a few spurts.

This should have been a game for Cliff Tucker, Braxton Dupree and Jin Soo Kim to get plenty of time. Instead, most of Maryland’s starters were in until 3:27 remained.

It was a victory, and that’s all that will be remembered a month from now (or, more accurately, a week from now). Maryland is now 9-2, and has won five straight since returning from the Old Spice Classic. That’s not a bad place to be.

I’ll have more from postgame in a bit.
