BOISE, Idaho —- Well, the defenses have made only token appearances in the first quarter.

There’s been a kickoff return for a score, a kickoff just as the wind blew the ball off the tee, an interception in the end zone, a touchdown for a seldom-used wideout and Maryland‘s defense getting gashed for six plays of 10 yards or more.

All in a days work at the Humanitarian Bowl.

Just think, there’s 45 minutes left in this sucker. So far, the difference is a missed Obi Egekeze extra point. The press box announcer quickly mangled his name, to the point it sounded like Egekeze was closer to a nemesis for Superman than a kicker.

But I digress. And now Morgan Green has just for a score.

So it’s 19-14 now, extra point pending. Time to pay attention again.
