There are a handful of events that are truly worth giving up a mindless afternoon on the couch for.

Navy-Temple football and Georgetown-Drexel basketball probably don’t qualify and I went to watch those in some spare time, so maybe my standards aren’t quite right.

But it’s fair to say Army-Navy football is a worthy thing to invest a day in.

As a loyal reader told me today, “It should be on everyone’s bucket list.” He’s gone to about a half-dozen, and somehow got me more excited than I already was to see one of college football’s great traditions.

So expect plenty of goodies from Lincoln Financial Field tomorrow. I’ll be hitting the road early, and hope to find my seat in Philly before 9:30 a.m.

The blog will be packed with entries throughout the afternoon —- hopefully none of them involving me craning my neck to see the TV showing the ACC title game. One Boston College-Virginia Tech game in Florida is enough for me.

I’ll check back in once I settle in at the Linc tomorrow.
