Just got out of Ralph Friedgen’s office, and have time for one update before finishing up a dead-tree edition story.

Cornerback Nolan Carroll is questionable for Saturday’s game against North Carolina with a lingering ankle injury. The junior practiced all week, and Friedgen said he was “gimpy” because of the injury.

Maryland can’t really afford to lose any more cornerbacks. Going without Carroll would pretty much make it Anthony Wiseman and Jamari McCollough playing nearly the entire game, with a dash of Michael Carter sprinkled in. Cameron Chism? Ralph keeps saying he’s getting better but questions whether he’s ready to play.

If Carroll can’t go, the Terps might just find out on Saturday.
