Tomorrow is a special day in Maryland football practice lore.

OK, that’s probably not a very long book of lore. But it is an opportunity for students to check out the Terrapins during their day-before-the-game walkthrough.

Ralph Friedgen isn’t sure whether it will be in Byrd Stadium or on the team’s practice field, but either way it starts at 3:15 p.m. He’s planning to give t-shirts to the first 100 students who show up, and admitted “I could probably have a few other motivating things but it probably wouldn’t fly real well.”

Apparently, all that’s needed to get in is a student ID. And since I still have mine safely wedged somewhere in my wallet, I should be good to go.

Right, Ralph?

“I’ll make sure you don’t get in,” Friedgen said with a smile.

Guess I’ll have to find a free t-shirt – and an good, solid injury update – somewhere else.
