Ralph Friedgen got to open things at his Tuesday presser in his favorite.

Well, favorite way other than “Hello, everyone, good to see you all here.”

It was this short sentence: “We have no new injuries.”

So that puts Maryland in about as good a spot to be at in terms of injuries as it could hope to be at this stage. If you look at the two-deep from the start of camp – which, including some “ors” on the depth chart amounts to 49 players – and ignore the generally ignored H-back position, only four guys from that bunch are unavailable at this stage:

LB Rick Costa (suspension)
LB Ben Pooler (knee)
CB Kevin Barnes (shoulder)
CB Richard Taylor (knee)

That’s one anticipated starter, two key reserves and a guy who has yet to play but could be good down the road.

And after 10 games and a month of camp, that’s a pretty good place to find yourself in mid-November.
