I was curious just how long it would be before a Maryland box score spit out some data that didn’t make any sense.

The answer was four games, and worse yet, it was a game I didn’t happen to be at.

So there’s one little spot in the data that’s a little dubious.

If you look at the play-by-play info here, there’s a little snafu late in the first half when Greivis Vasquez comes in and both Eric Hayes and Sean Mosley sit. Since (a) Vasquez is listed with a missed 3 a few seconds earlier, (b) Hayes commits his second foul at the point where this stoppage of play occurs and (c) Gary Williams isn’t Norman Dale, my guess is Vasquez subbed in for Mosley prior to the previous scoring play.

Most importantly, it makes the data work out perfectly – as in a team plus/minus of +90. If I have this wrong, someone let me know. Otherwise, this chart should probably be good:
