Man of the cloth Cedric Peerman is certainly doing his best Video Bo Jackson imitation.

It’s enough to make him a better reason to keep an eye on Virginia‘s game against East Carolina than Original Hog talking about all the canines coming after the quarterback.

Peerman’s simply popped off touchdown runs of 79 and 60 yards in the first half. The former ties for the seventh-longest run in school history.

Of course, the Cavaliers also have Kevin Ogletree, and East Carolina seems as unwilling to cover him as Maryland was last week.

So Virginia is now up 28-6 on imploding East Carolina, and suddenly a .500 record entering the second half of the season is roughly 31 minutes away.

Exactly a week ago, that would have sounded ridiculous. But right now, the vassals of the Old Dominion should be quite pleased with Lord Groh.

This seems like a good time to point out Groh is 36-11 at Scott Stadium and 14-27 on the road (with a 3-2 neutral record tossed in). So if Virginia just holds serve at home, it can salvage a 6-6 season —- and perhaps a Dec. 20 trip to RFK Stadium to play Navy in the process.
