Just wanted to again pass along some info about the start of basketball season tomorrow night.

I call the event Midnight Madness out of habit. Here’s betting a lot of people do. But it’s technically “Maryland Madness” and has been for a few years now.

It does no harm to reference it as both, though, although the “midnight” in Midnight Madness is now outdated. That’s probably a good thing; I’d like to get some sleep before that noon kickoff on Saturday.

Anyway, Comcast SportsNet will televise the 9 o’clock hour from Comcast Center for those who can’t make it. Here’s the rundown of what to expect throughout the night:

6:00 p.m. - Doors open
7:20 p.m. - Gary Williams look-alike contest
7:55 p.m. - Men’s alumni game
8:20 p.m. - Performances, dancing, Gymkana
9:05 p.m. - Introduction of women’s team, Brenda Frese speaks, women’s scrimmage
9:30 p.m. - Introduction of men’s team, Gary Williams arrival, men’s scrimmage
10:00 p.m. - Approximate end
