The ACC just sent out its conference players of the week.

Interestingly, not a single player from one of the conference’s Carolina schools —- North or South —- is among the honorees.

I’ll start trying to figure out the last time that happened shortly (probably not too long ago), but Maryland‘s Chris Turner and Bruce Campbell both won at their respective positions, as did Virginia linebacker Jon Copper.

Turner was named the offensive back of the week for completing 28 of 41 for 321 yards and a touchdown. Campbell is the offensive lineman of the week after making his second career start and playing well as Maryland rolled up 470 yards total offense.

Copper, meanwhile, is the defensive lineman of the week and collecting 16 tackles in the Cavaliers’ overtime defeat of North Carolina.

(EDIT at 12:49 p.m.: The last time none of the ACC’s players of the week came from a Carolina school was Oct. 1, 2007. Which means this isn’t nearly as intriguing as I thought it was initially).
