Well, at long last, every team in the ACC has produced a player of the week this season.

That’s the case because linebacker Clint Sintim earned the defensive lineman of the week honor.

The senior had seven tackles and a sack, and he’s easily one of the best players I’ve seen in person this year.

At the start of the year, it was easy to see Virginia’s path to respectability centered on its defense keeping it in 17-14 and 21-17 games all season. The Cavaliers still haven’t won a game like that yet, but their two shutout victories suggest a strong defense (led by Sintim) remain much more likely to generate victories than a still-developing offense —- even if that offense did drop 31 points on Maryland over the weekend.
