Well, the “I-told-you-so” crowd  back in College Park is probably saying exactly that to me right now.

Maryland just scored the first touchdown Clemson’s defense has yielded in 10 quarters, and it got them within 17-13. And it was set up by Darrius Heyward-Bey‘s 75-yard reverse.


So inexplicably, Maryland has been entirely outplayed and is still within 17-13. If the eight-point margin in the California game didn’t reflect how well Maryland played that did, this does not show how poorly the Terps are faring today.

Yet here they are, one play away from finding themselves in the lead. The con is in.

The only things missing are Robert Shaw and Dana Elcar. Here’s guessing they don’t appear today.
