CLEMSON, S.C. —- Arriving early at Clemson might be more important than anywhere else in the ACC.

Of course, there is plenty of tailgating already set up. Everywhere you look, there are orange tents. Heck, the Official Dot Com Diva and I followed a Clemson long snapper in —- and he was on a motor scooter.

It’s a cool day for the four South Carolina natives on the roster, though only Ronnie Tyler is likely to have a decent-sized role. Mack Frost is doubtful, and linemen Stephen St. John and Justin Lewis are unlikely to play much today (if they’re even here, which I’ll pass along in a little bit).

It’s also the closest thing to a hometown game for kicker Obi Egekeze, who grew up across the state line in Augusta, Ga. He might wind up with the biggest cheering section of any of Maryland‘s players.

More to come in a bit, including a look at the famous Clemson sweet tea. Just a shade over two hours to kickoff…
