The D1scourse early-season hoops tour continues its frenetic pace tonight.

Friday, it was Navy.

Saturday, it was Georgetown (against American).

Sunday, it was the BB&T Classic.

Tuesday, it was George Mason.

And tonight, it’s George Washington, for what is really a sneaky good game featuring the 6-1 Colonials and Providence (6-3).

GW is deep, and is already 60 percent of the way to its victory total from last year. Providence, which lost a ton from last year, has lost to Alabama, Boston College and Rhode Island (none a humilating setback) and beaten a tough Northeastern outfit on the road.

This also is a continuation of what could be the ill-fated Project 75, an attempt to see at least 75 Division I teams in person before season’s end.

How’s it going so far? Well, check out the list:

1. Maryland
2. Charleston Southern
3. Fairfield
4. Indiana
5. Navy
6. Penn
7. Georgetown
8. American
9. George Washington
10. Villanova
11. George Mason
12. Dayton
13. Providence

Covering an early-season event (hello, Maui Invitational) or the NCAA tournament would help this figure tremendously. But for now, it’s a start.

And on paper, this has the look of a good one.

Tonight’s lineups:

PROVIDENCE (6-3)

G-4-Sharaud Curry
G-23-Brian McKenzie
G-2-Marshon Brooks
F-21-Jamine Peterson
F-42-Bilal Dixon

GEORGE WASHINGTON (6-1)

G-3-Tony Taylor
G-20-Lasan Kromah
F-15-Aaron Ware
F-22-Damian Hollis
F-42-Joseph Katuka
