Just a few quick nuggets from Maryland’s lacrosse opener that I just heard about.
The Terrapins drubbed Presbyterian 18-3 in Jacksonville, Fla., with newcomer Will Yeatman producing a goal and three assists. Grant Catalino, Dan Groot and Travis Reed each had two goals and two assists for Maryland, which won its 16th straight season opener.

The No. 3 Terps predictably received a limited challenge from the Blue Hose, who are in their second season in Division I. Goalies Jason Carter and Brian Phipps both played a half each (as they typically did last year) and made three saves apiece.
Maryland plays again tomorrow afternoon against Air Force in the Wounded Warrior Project’s Faceoff for a Cause event.
