It isn’t always right when a guy wins a player of the week award based on one game.

Then again, most times, it doesn’t happen unless something extraordinary happens.


Such was the case with Maryland‘s Greivis Vasquez, whose triple-double against North Carolina was enough to net him ACC honors for the week. Certainly the fact he scored more points than anyone else in league history while securing his triple-double didn’t hurt.

So Maryland got a nifty little award and a vote in the AP poll. Chances are, the Terps will receive additional accolades if they happen to upend Duke on Wednesday.
