Just got a release earlier this afternoon I figured I’d share.

Five Maryland seniors were invited to postseason games.

We already knew about Kevin Barnes‘ Senior Bowl invite. He won’t play in the Jan. 24 game, but it’s still good for him he got the call about it before he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in October.

Meanwhile, offensive linemen Edwin Williams and Jaimie Thomas will participate in Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game in Houston, while defensive end Jeremy Navarre and linebacker Moise Fokou will play in the Texas vs. the Nation (presumably, for the nation) in El Paso on Jan. 31.

Other than linebacker Dave Philistin, there isn’t an obvious option who was left out. But these games also take only so many players, so in some ways receiving five invitations is a rather good haul for Maryland’s program after an 8-5 season.
