TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —- A picture of the lobby at the Doubletree Hotel here would be priceless right now.

All around, Maryland‘s basketball players are wearing headphones and diligently working on things for their winter term classes.

You don’t often get a look at the student part of the student-athlete phrase. But between the plethora of open laptops and the sharing of midterm grades (and the hilarity that follows someone joking that a teammate got a score about 50 percent lower than reality), it’s actually a really interesting scene.

Maryland also has its director for academic support for the sport here, so there’s some organization to the madness. But without question, it is an entertaining scene worth taking in at least once a season.
