Sitting courtside here at Comcast Center with an interesting development —- Jerome Burney is working with assistant coach Rob Ehsan on an assortment of things.
The big development is he is now sans walking boot.
SEE RELATED:
Burney hasn’t played since a Dec. 7 game against George Washington. When coach Gary Williams said four days later Burney would be out three-to-six weeks with a stress fracture in his right foot, he wasn’t kidding.
As it stands, it is pretty much exactly six weeks later. And here Burney is, perhaps close to returning to a team that could use the addition of a brawny inside option.
With so much time lost, Burney probably couldn’t be a consistent offensive option. But he would solve some problems at the defensive end the Terrapins have actually done a decent job of hiding in the last few games.
More to come later.
