DURHAM, N.C. —- Maryland has never scored less than 47 points under Gary Williams.

The Terps have never lost by more than 36 points under Williams.

Maryland has never lost to Duke by more than 36 points.

It’s worth bringing all these numbers up because they could all get changed within the next hour.

The Terps are getting absolutely slaughtered, in every possible way. Points (40-15), rebounds (27-12), assist-to-turnover (2/12) … everything.

If Duke was having a good day offensively, things would be so much worse.

Adrian Bowie and Eric Hayes have combined for no points, no assists and six turnovers. Maryland’s bench hasn’t scored a point.

Duke’s defense is, in a word, splendid. That’s going to be the engine that takes the Blue Devils as far as they can go this year.

Tonight, it could be enough to roll to a 40-point victory.

Things are ugly at Cameron. And it would be no shock if they got a whole lot uglier in the final 20 minutes.
