Just got word Maryland forward Jerome Burney is done for the year with a broken sesamoid bone in his right foot.
So ends the season for the affable big man who just can’t catch some good fortune.

Burney, who redshirted because of injuries two years ago, averaged 0.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in nine games. He sat out 16 straight games because of a stress fracture in his right foot.
Losing the 6-foot-9 big man certainly doesn’t help in terms of depth, but he’s played only twice (for 20 minutes) since Dec. 7, anyway. Look for a few more Braxton Dupree cameos in the coming weeks now that Burney is shelved.
