Maryland finally got to play in front of  a big home crowd today.

Of course, there’s lots of maroon and burnt orange in the stands. And the people wearing those colors have reason to be pleased.

Virginia Tech is up 14-0, having constructed  a pair of drives of more than 70 yards so far. Maryland managed 1 yard on its first two drives, which should effectively silence anyone wondering if Chris Turner was the problem.

He wasn’t. And neither is Jamarr Robinson. It’s the utter lack of a running game.

It hasn’t shown up today except when Robinson takes off.

(EDIT: Nick Ferrara started the second quarter with a 36-yard field goal. It’s now 14-3.).
