Just into Comcast Center, and the “never-a-dull-moment-in-College Park” mantra is well underway.

Junior forward Dino Gregory isn’t suited up (and frankly, there is no sign of him during warmups) for what Maryland describes as the ever-popular and nebulous “violation of team rules.”

Here’s the school’s tersely worded statement:

“Dino Gregory will not participate in tonight’s exhibition game with Indiana, Pa., due to a violation of team rules. Due to federal regulations which protect the privacy of student records, there cannot be further comment.”

And by no further comment, that means no response to questions about how long-term this “violation of team rules” will last.

In short, the first exhibition game hasn’t tipped off, and there’s already a vague storyline for the Terrapins this season.
