The most notable development from Virginia’s injury report is the status of senior quarterback Jameel Sewell.

Namely, he is doubtful with a shoulder injury.

This is intriguing not just because it’s quite the dagger for the Cavaliers in their game against Miami, but also because it fits in with a rough week for ACC quarterbacks.

Florida State’s Christian Ponder was limited part of the week with bruised ribs. Wake Forest’s Riley Skinner is coming off a concussion.

And unlike last year, when starting quarterbacks were dropping all over the place, it’s completely out of whack with this season’s trends.

The primary quarterback for each of the ACC’s 12 teams has at least appeared in every game.

Boston College’s Dave Shinskie had his own injury issues. And Thaddeus Lewis shuttled in and out in September for Duke. But ultimately, they played (if not well) each game.

Sewell, it would seem, has a chance to end that collective iron man streak this week.

The full rundown for the Cavaliers:

QB Jameel Sewell (shoulder)

LB Aaron Clark (knee)
DE Matt Conrath (ankle)

DE Nate Collins (hip)
LB Steve Greer (shoulder)
FB Rashawn Jackson (arm)
DE Zane Parr (knee)
S Brandon Woods (shoulder)
