ANNAPOLIS —- It’s been classic Navy in the third quarter as the Mids have tied Temple and are poised to take the lead quite soon.

Navy didn’t bother to attempt a pass in the quarter, but it didn’t matter. The Mids punted on their first possession, recovered a fumble at the tail end of said punt and proceeded to score five plays later.


After an interception handed Navy the ball near midfield, it milked six minutes off the clock and sits a couple yards from taking the lead.

It’s a different spot than last year, when Navy was far behind in the fourth quarter and rallied to beat the Owls in OT. But the prize is the same —- bowl eligibility.
