Maryland released a statement from coach Randy Edsall tonight on the departure of right tackle R.J. Dill, who announced earlier in the day he would leave the program after earning his economics degree later this month:

“We wish R.J. well in his future athletic and academic pursuits,” Edsall said. “We appreciate the commitment and effort R.J. has given to the Maryland football program.”

Dill started 33 games, including the last 30 in a row for the Terps. Both figures were the largest for a Maryland offensive player since Edwin Williams started 33 games in a row between 2006 and 2008.
